'nuff said

Only have about 4.5 inches on the ground, but it's been snowing since Sunday, so more has probably fallen.

November 30, first big snow

The forecast moved from 3-4 inches to 6-8 overnight. They thought it would start raining and then turn to snow. Heh. No rain here. Although it took a couple of hours for the precip to overcome the dry air. We took the dog for a walk around 11 am and by the time we returned around noon, the snow went from flurries to snow. When all this started around noon, our previous snow had melted so we started this storm from scratch.

The following pictures were taken around 2:30 eastern. I haven't taken an exact measurement yet( next update) but it looks like we have about an inch or so on the ground. The trees and shrubbery are taking on snow as well.

Next update in a couple of hours.

He looks serious, but right after this picture was taken, he went ripping around the yard like a crazy dog. He LOVES the snow!!!

November Snow

At least the dog likes it! I cannot believe how early winter has set in. I mean really set its damn claws IN and is holding.
Looks like Persephone got tired of all the election bs and decided to head back to Hades early this year! We haven't seen temps above 40 in two weeks. Aside from a teasing prediction of 41 on Thanksgiving, we aren't scheduled to be above 40 for the next week, and, I'm afraid, the rest of the #@*& winter.
I shouldn't grouse. But I usually get a little acclimation period in November where temps are in the 40s and slowly modulate to 30s for December. After six winters here in Michigan, I'm still a southern girl at heart. I miss the sun already.

Like I mentioned before.....the dog likes it....

Summertime!!

It is summertime in the mid-north of the country. After spending so many of my summers in St Louis, MO, the "heat" in MI is a vacation of sorts. Actually, summer here is the short reward we receive for enduring the rest of the year aka "winter".




Cerberus gives a resounding "woof" for cleaning out the old gryphon house.

He's a happy boy! Ain't it great when things are going your way...heyhey?

Time away, but the porch is still there

Hey there you four people in the world who check out this photoblog! I'm really sorry for my extended disappearance. This past spring was quite the challenge for me. It was awesome, but hectic. I was running a real blog for my classroom and it seemed to take up much more of my online time. But, after admonishment from friends, I have new pictures.

The one above was taken in late March. I was in town for a conference and HAD to head out to the Statue. We had a chilly day for late March, but it was lovely. As for the trip...saw Patti perform an amazing Mamma Rose, and watched a brilliant production of Madama Butterfly.
Also was able to fit in MOMA this round as well. ....oh yeah...my presentation was good and the conference was successful...but that's the boring part.


Look out!! She's going to step on you. This is the last thing the ant of Liberty sees.

Robert and I went to St Louis the last week of May and did a few touristy things. The Missouri Botanical Gardens exhibt many Chihuly works throughout, resulting in beautiful combinations of glass and nature.

Hi, I'm Cerberus. I'm 10 months old and a very good puppy when I want to be.


This is me among the boxes. Right now I've been living in two houses, but now it will only be one! Hooray! I'll know where all my chewies are.


This is me at the park. I love running in the sunshine and I know in a moment mom will let me off the leash so I can chase a ball a bit. Hooray!!

Yes, as you saw above, the porch is moving. Strangely enough, moving across the street to the red house so often seen in the porch pictures. So although the porch will no longer bee a station for birdies, I've relocated the apparatus in a much nicer location with a bigger tree for cover and more branches to sit upon. So far it seems to be a hit. I'll post more pictures soon...but for now, I need to get back to my living room...and moving.
